Piano
Piano is a solo instrument that can be considered as a chordophone and a percussion instrument. Pressing a key on the piano's keyboard causes a felt-covered hammer to strike steel strings. The hammers rebound, allowing the strings to continue vibrating at their resonant frequency, that’s who the piano creates its remarkable sound, The ability of making each note to sound differently gives the piano the impressive variety of expressions.
The inventor of the piano is the Italian Bartolommeo Christophori. He was born in Padova, Italy in 1655. He came for a very poor family and since he was a child he learned the art of constructing musical instruments.
The piano can have either a solo or an orchestral position. Even though people believe piano is used mostly in classical music, that’s wrong. Piano has a very important role on other kind of music such as Jazz, Blues and Rock and Roll. Last but not least it is used in folkloric music where is the main musical instrument or it has a supportive role.
