Harpsichord
The harpsichord was invented 600 years ago. It’s at the same family with the piano but instead of having felt-covered hammers, as the piano has, it has a plectrum. The sound that creates is remarkable and anyone can easily recognize it.
In the beginning it was loved and became famous throughout Europe. But it was used as an accompanying instrument rather than a solo musical instrument
The harpsichord’s main body has the shape of a wing. For each note there are two or more strings. The harpsichordist can choose the number of strings in order to create tough or soft sounds.
Around the end of the 18th century, the harpsichord started losing its publicity as the piano emerged. For around a century it remain forgotten until in our century where is passing a period of renaissance.
